What is a way for you to exercise at home w/o bikes, skates, etc.?

i've been cooped up at home over this winter break and i feel extremely unhealthy. i havent been exercising at all.

im guessing most of you guys would say take a walk in the morning...or jog. idk. but i dont have a bike or rollar skates or anything.

What is a way for you to exercise at home w/o bikes, skates, etc.?
i feel exactly the same way you feel. every night i go to a big open space (which for me is downstairs) and i do the following:

1. do all the stretches i know, 10 seconds each

2. do 100 jumping jacks

3. run in place for 150 seconds

4. punch right, punch left, punch up with right arm, then kick with right foot 50 times

5. repeat step four except punch up with left arm and kick with left foot 50 times

6. wall sit for 20 seconds, increasing by 5 seconds every night

7. do 150 sit ups

8. do 10 push ups, increasing by 1 every night
Reply:I have an exercise video that works great for me. Its a step aerobics DVD by Cathe Friedrich. I bought them at Target two years ago, it came with weights, a step, three (or four) DVDs, a resistance band, and an exercise ball. Its easy to do and its fun.

If you want something that is free, jumping jacks are a great form of cardio. Just do a bunch of repetitions.

Good luck
Reply:When I don't what want to excersize, I just go to the mall and window shop for a few hours, and you might even buy something nice for yourself!!
Reply:If you have stairs in your house, maybe try walking up and down the stairs. If you don't have a set of stairs in your home, maybe you can do some jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-ups, or maybe dance to music.
Reply:Do sit-ups, push-ups, bend at the waist, twists from side to side, drink nothing but water and stay away from the breads, cheeses, and anything with high fats.
Reply:pilates.
Reply:push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, running in place, mountain climbers. stretching. jump rope

You could even workout with some of those cable tv work out shows. You'd be surprised how much better you feel after any of these workouts
Reply:blast some music and dance your heart out.

you got a tshirt or sweat shirt...check

you got shorts or some kind of workout pants...check

and you're good to go.

you can also do sit ups and pushups in your room.
Reply:If you have stairs in your house you could try running up and down them.

Dancing is also a great way to excercise

chin-ups pushups and crunches are quick pretty easy and build muscle as well as loose weight.

Jump rope

even house cleaning can get your heart rate up.

Have fun!
Reply:Skipping,Jogging on spot,Maybe you could go out and grab an ab excrcise video
Reply:dance.
Reply:Stuck inside? You can do wall/door slides to work your Quads and Hamstrings, or Toe Raises to work your Calves. You can also step if you have one or something to step up and down on, and then there are all of the Calisthenics exercises to choose from. Remember that for Cardio benefit you should sustain some level of exertion for more than thirty minutes.

The slides are done against a door or wall as suggested above using a T-shirt or towel between you and the wall.

You can also use containers with or without handles filled with water or whatever in the place of steel weights if you would like to lift weights while stuck inside.
Reply:omg i feel the same way, i haven't had a decent workout in weeks and i'm dieing here

but i do squats and pushups and situps just to keep tight

squats are good if your lookin to work your legs, also lunges really work your legs, if you do 'em right you'll feel really sore next day (with weights)

today i should be running but its freezing outside

i hate winter i can't workout, and 24 hour fitness is like next door, but expensive
