Hello Me,

Those are great beginner skates and great for Derby too.

I like the Riedell R3's over the Surgrip boxer which is similar in price and quality except the R3 has the plates bolted in not riveted like the boxer.

Go to www.fastgirlskates.com she is a derby diva and sells skates.

Same with sincityskates.com.

As far as beginner outdoor wheels those will get you buy but the stickier the wheel the easier it is for outdoor for beginner.

Like the Hyper Energy or my favorite Kryptonics 70. They go over anything and I mean anything. Make sure your bearings are grease not oil. Better for outdoors.

But like I said the websites listed are great places to check out before you make the plunge.

Good luck
Reply:R3s suck, but if you're just starting out or using them for recreational use, you're fine. Joining roller derby? You can use them, BUT expect to buy new skates in about 6 months AND for the love of God please do not use the wheels they come with. Fugitive wheels are your friend. And finally, please go to www.sincityskates.com and not Low Price Skates, because it's run by derby girls and they rock!
