Does a pair of inline skates have 1 heel brake on one skate and not on the other or a heel brake on each skate

Almost all inline skates come with one heel brake attached to the right skate.

The brake can be changed to the left skate for those who stop better with it on the left.

Stopping on two brakes (Wile E. Coyote stop) is a very high skill method that only a few people can do. Uwe Brockman is a racer that has made special "leashes" that allow him to get the leverage to do it with racing skates. http://www.panix.com/~uwe/brakelev/index...

Since paying to put a second brake on a pair of skates doesn't help vary many people, the skate companies don't do it.

A brake will not trip a competent skater when doing crossovers or most other things. Obviously it doesn't both Uwe. I have a heel brake on my 5x84mm skates (13.5" between the front and rear axles).

Stopping on two brakes is not really a high skill method and i believe there will be more than a few people that can do that if they try. Report It

Reply:usually. sometimes both have a brake on them. i like to take the brake off because it gets in the way sometimes when doing crossovers. you can stop yourself without the brake.
Reply:there is no brakes on ice skates you have to be able to stop yourself.
