Record player: Tone arm skates across record?

Hey everyone





I have an older Motorola record player that has been working fine until now. After trying different records, needles, and the nickel method, my tone arm will not sit in the groove. It just skates across the record. Could there be something mechanically wrong with the arm itself? If so would this be fixable?

Check that the arm and record player are both completely level.
Reply:Either the needle is blunt or you need to adjust the balance on the arm.


You must be one of the last people on the planet to use a record player.
