The lacing of the skates....?

how are u supposed to tie up your skates? is there a certain hook were u should stop tieing? how tight?

sorry :S so many questions, but i jsut want to tie them up right?

The lacing of the skates....?
I will try to describe it but if it is as clear as mud mention it to your coach or a more advance skater and they will be able to show how they tie their skates.

Okay, first, open the skate up wide and put your foot in. Now pull the laces in the first couple of holes just so that you feel a little bit of a change in how the skate feels at your toes but make sure these aren't tight at all.

Now, lift your foot off the ground and almost drop it back down so that the heel of the blade hits the ground. Once you get the feel of that you might want to control your leg and use force for more effect. The point of this is to drive you foot all the way back into your skate.

Once you have done the kick back, resume tightening your laces. These are the laces that should start at about the middle of the arch of your foot and continue through the ankle bend of your skate but not go up past the bend. These laces should be really, really tight!

Okay, now you are up in to the leg. These laces should also be tight but not as tight as the arch ones. And then any lace that is left over gets wrapped around your ankle and secured.

I hope this helps!

Reply:Most people don't lace their skates all the way up. It's best to leave the last hook undone, that way you can bend more in the ankles. You should only be able to move your heel up not even an inch. There's also a certain way to tie your skates that is better for the skate.
Reply:Yeah you lace them through all of the hooks. You tighten them down at the bottom then once you get to the hooks you criss-cross your laces and wrap them around the hooks. You repeat that until you gat all the way till you get to the top then you tie a bow or a knot.
