If I wear a size 8 in womens shoes what do i wear in hockey & figure skating skates?

I have Figure skating skates but I bought them over 10 years ago and when I wore them they made my feet really sore, so I was planning on maybe trading them in for some Hockey skates to be more comfortable. But I wanted to make sure I had correct size for my feet.

the best thing to do is get your feet measured when you go to by your skates





your foot size, shape, or width could have changed and there is a possibility your feet might not be equal, one could be bigger, wider, or a different shape then the other foot
Reply:i think they run a little bit smaller so, u might want 1 size bigger than ur normal size, but i think they make ur feet sore no matter what

the girl above me said if it isnt comforable go 1 size up instead, not true.


its not supposed to be comfortable because your supposed to break them in. they are supposed to basicly be like a second skin to your foot, but kinda not like THAT tight either. only go up 1/2.
Reply:half size bigger if that still isn't comfortable than get a whole size bigger but don't go any bigger than that.
Reply:I'd say a ten. I'm a five in most shoes, but I have to wear a size seven in figure skates (with socks on), otherwise they bleed.
Reply:I would suggest going to your local pro shop and having them size you for skates. Depending on the brand and type of skate depends on what size of skate you may have. Good luck!

if you are a figure skater:: get yours custom fitted. thats what i have done since i started when i was four, and i have never had a problem





if you just skate for fun:: i would recommend getting recreation ice skates. they are great, they have the blade of a figure skate but the boot looks like a tennis shoe. they are great. when my non-figure skating friends come on the rink with me, they use those. and they're absolutely perfect. i'll attach a link === http://www.skates.com/riedell-soft-boot-...
