How do you make a new pair of hockey skates not so stiff?

I just got a new pair of hockey skates, and I need them tomorrow for hockey early in the morning. Does anyone know a way to make them so they wont hurt my feet. In a FAST way?

How do you make a new pair of hockey skates not so stiff?
well really, theres not much you can do for it.

you have to break them in so wear them around

just dont walk on the rug;]

=)
Reply:The only way I know is to wear them today, and also keep stretching them, and if you know someone with bigger feet they should wear them and stretch them
Reply:You are basically talking about breaking the skates in overnight. It's not going to happen. Icing's suggestion used to work with the old leather skates, unfortunately there are so many synthetic materials in new skates that the suggestion will not do so well with the vast majority of new skates.

The only suggestion I have for you is to tie the top eyelets of skates looser than you normally would. Tie the lower eyelets as tight as normal to hold the sole of your foot against the foot bed. What you are asking for is increased flexibility from the boot. This will not provide any more flexibility from the boot, but will allow you to get more flex in your ankle. Make sure to get on the ice early for warm-ups, it may take some trial and error to get the right feel.
Reply:well when i got my skates they heated them up in a mini oven and then the molded my feet into it (sports check) so you can risk it and put in in a oven and then put it on your feet. It takes 30 hours off to break them in on ice.
Reply:Its probably too late in the day, but some of the hockey shops will heat the skates to get them to fit better. I don't know if that actually softens it.

Take a hair dryer and heat the inside of the skate, aim down the boot. This will get the leather warmed up.

Put on a pair of slightly wet / damp socks (not dripping wet), and strap in the skates. Take your hair dryer and heat the outside of the skates. If you can, stand up in them so that your feet spread out stretching the leather.

Do this for about 15 minutes. The leather should stretch and soften a bit.

I don't guarantee this, but I think this is how the used to do it in the day.
