Record player: tone arm skates across record?

Hey everyone





I have an older Motorola record player that has been working fine until now. After trying different records, needles, and the nickel method, my tone arm will not sit in the groove. It just skates across the record. Could there be something mechanically wrong with the arm itself? If so would this be fixable?

It sounds like your needle is gone. If the nickel method isn't working ( which you should never do ) then the needle is worn down to nothing.
